Teacher poll: Perspectives on school accountability

Between May 21 and May 29, 2015, Teach Plus polled teachers in the Teach Plus network on a series of questions concerning their perspectives on school accountability. Read the brief based on the poll responses of 1,139 teachers who currently teach in traditional public schools or public charter schools.

Teacher poll: Perspectives on the ESEA

Between April 10 and April 13, 2015, Teach Plus polled teachers in the Teach Plus network on a series of questions concerning the ESEA reauthorization. Read the brief based on the poll responses of 1,111 teachers who currently teach in traditional public schools or public charter schools. 

 

Congressional briefing on accountability and resource equity

On June 4, 2015, Teach Plus assembled a panel of current classroom teachers from across the nation to share their expertise and insights with policymakers. Nearly 50 staffers from Congressional offices heard from the teachers about the impact ESEA has on their students and schools, including the teachers' suggestions for improving the law's accountability and resource equity provisions.

Congressional briefing on testing

On February 9, 2015, Teach Plus Teaching Policy Fellows met with Congressional staffers for an in-depth conversation on testing in schools.  The teachers discussed how they use assessments in their classrooms, and shared their perspectives on next-generation tests and their recommendations on the ESEA reauthorization.
