In partnership with The Boston Foundation, Teach Plus Massachusetts is engaging leading educators from across the Boston educational landscape in an open dialogue with school and district leaders, policy makers and educators. We have launched our inaugural cohort of EDX Teaching Fellows that will lead the planning and implementation of three summits for teachers and school leaders. EDX Teaching Fellows will develop recommendations for accelerating improvements in student achievement across all of Boston’s school sectors.
In a structure similar to the forums hosted by The Boston Foundation, these summits will consist of a keynote speaker, panel discussion, and teacher-led conversations. The first summit will introduce the theme of the EDX Teaching Fellows project, provide participants background data on Boston student achievement, and launch a discussion to promote sharing learning and generating recommendations on how best to support student success across the city.
The first educator summit is scheduled for Thursday, February 15th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Boston Foundation offices at 75 Arlington Street. We hope you can join Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang, Chad d’Entremont of the Rennie Center, Laura Perille of Edvestors and representatives from the BTU, charter and catholic school sectors in a dialogue about the current state of the Boston education landscape and how we can work together to improve outcomes for all students.
Stay tuned for information about the remaining two summits. The second summit will continue and deepen the discussion, using insight gathered from school visits led by the EDX Fellows. The third summit will summarize the series and showcase the learning and recommendations developed by the teachers.
