Hope Morales is the New Mexico State Policy Director. Prior to joining Teach Plus in 2017, Hope taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th grades in Roswell Independent School District and was the district’s Teacher on Special Assignment. In 2015 and 2016, she was recognized as a Chaves County “Teacher of Character.” During her nine years in the classroom, Hope was active in her school and district in a variety of leadership positions, including as a member of the superintendent’s advisory council and of the hearing authority committee.
Hope has served on the New Mexico Secretary’s Teacher Advisory and as a member of the New Mexico Teacher Leader Network. She is an alumna of the 2016-17 New Mexico’s inaugural Teach Plus Teaching Policy Fellowship and is working on a partnership between families and her school district leadership through the creation of a district “Family Cabinet.” Hope earned a bachelor’s degree in University Studies and master’s degree in Education Administration from Eastern New Mexico University. She lives in Roswell with her husband and three children.
