The mission of Teach Plus is to support the retention of high quality teachers into a second stage of their careers by expanding leadership opportunities and financial incentives for those who demonstrate success in the classroom. It is founded on the premise that teachers want to learn and grow in the profession, and want to ensure that their development results in increased learning among their students.

Teach Plus is transforming the teaching profession to better retain and grow highly effective teachers who get results for kids.

Work with Teachers:

• Incubate innovative ideas for retaining effective teachers by training small groups of early career teachers (the Teaching Policy Fellows) to advocate for change
• Amplify the voice of teachers who want to change the profession to reward effectiveness and results

Work with States, Districts and Schools:

• Accelerate teacher-led ideas through an Action Tank that works at the state, district and school level to implement innovations and policy changes that will improve the retention of effective urban teachers. The Massachusetts Teaching Excellence Collaborative is our first teacher-led initiative for change.
