Save the Date: Perspectives and Promising Practices in Personalized Learning

Time: 8:30am-3:30pm

All Rhode Island and Massachusetts educators are invited to join us at the MET School, a renowned hub of innovative teaching and learning to learn with fellow classroom educators, students, parents and community organizations about promising practices in creating personalized, student-centered learning environments in our classrooms, schools and districts, for students ranging from pre-k to post secondary education. 

Speakers include:

  • Dennis "Doc" Littky, Co-founder and co-director of The Big Picture Company, The Met School and College Unbound 
  • Nancy Diaz Bain Co-Director of The Met High School 
  • Shawn Rubin of the Highlander Institute and author of Pathways to Personalization

Formal agenda to follow but the day will include teacher, student & parent led sessions and self-guided break out groups al focused on making our schools more student centered environments to individualize the learning experience for every student.

Are you a district leader, school or classroom based practitioner, student/parent/youth/community organization designing and implementing new ways to engage youth and create student centered learning environments? Do you have lessons to share with your fellow educators on how to create cultures and systems to support personalized learning? Are you a student or parent that wants to learn more about how schools and community partners are trying to better engage and meet the needs of youth? Are you willing to share best practices with educators, parents and students from around Rhode Island and Massachusetts? Then we want to hear from you!

We are seeking up to 10 individual presenters or teams of educators/students/parents/community & education organizations who are willing to showcase their work in one hour presentations at our "Perspectives and Promising Practices in Personalized, Student Centered Learning Summit" on Saturday, June 8th at the MET School in Providence, RI.


Deadline for submission is May 5th at 5:00pm.
