Allison Heneghan is a 2019 Teach Plus New Mexico Teaching Policy Fellow. Allison teaches high school health and science at Aldo Leopold Charter School in Silver City, where she is the student council mentor, GSA (gay-straight alliance) sponsor, and NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) adoption coordinator. Allison serves on the New Mexico ‘dream team’ to develop free open source NGSS-aligned curriculum for NM teachers and is a member of the Grant County MSS (Making Sense of Science) leadership team, bringing high-quality professional development in the sciences to rural Southwestern New Mexico. She earned her BA and MS in Biology from New Mexico State University, focusing on botany and genetics.
