My mission is to teach marginalized youth the strategies needed to be able to build on their life experiences, helping them cultivate a sense of compassion, belonging and self-advocacy.

Chantei Alves is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Commonwealth Teaching Policy Fellow. Chantei teaches K1 inclusion at Young Achievers K-8 Science and Math Pilot School in Mattapan, MA, where she is also the K0-K1 team leader, K0-K1 instructional leadership team representative, and Lighthouse (social emotional and school culture) team member.  Chantei is a member of the Boston Network of Black Student Achievement (BNBSA), a BNBSA SpEd Committee member, and an educator on The Teacher Collaborative Educator Council. Chantei graduated from Atlantic Union College with a BA in Pre-Med Biology and Chemistry minor and received her MEd in Education from Northeastern University.
