I am passionate about dismantling the thin line between at-risk and targeted youth.

Romana Mathews is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow who teaches Family & Consumer Sciences, Lifespan Development, and Dynamics of Human Relationship for grades 9-12 at Forrest City High School in Forrest City. Romana also serves as the advisor for Student Council, Family and Career Community Leaders of America, Arkansas, and as the site coordinator for Freedom School. She received a BS in Human Development & Family Studies from The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, an MS in Family & Consumer Sciences from Alabama A&M and is currently a doctoral student at The University of Memphis pursuing a degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies.
