Ann Harmon is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Policy Fellow. Ann teaches Pre-K at Caring Hands Daycare and Preschool in LaSalle, Illinois. She was awarded the Terri Lynne Lockoff/Children’s Tylenol National Child Care Teacher award in 2017, enabling her to design and place a music wall in the center’s playground. She was the Discovery Toys North American Preschool Educator of the Year Runner-up in 2018 and 2019 and was named a “Heart of Illinois Children’s Champion” by the Heart of Illinois Chapter of Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children in June 2019. Prior to teaching, Ann was a freelance reporter for the Peoria Journal Star. She graduated from Kendall College with her BA in Early Childhood Education.
