Claire Trainer is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellow. Claire teaches 7th and 8th grade life and physical science at Sauganash Elementary School in Chicago, where she is a member of the school’s Instructional Leadership Team and the Museum of Science and Industry Leadership Initiative committee. Prior to teaching at Sauganash, Claire was a 6th grade math and science teacher at Sayre Language Academy. She was selected as a 2017 National Geographic and Lindblad Grosvenor Teacher Fellow and is a National Geographic Certified Educator. Claire earned a BA in General Business with a double minor in Art and Sociology from Bowling Green State University, an MEd with a focus on Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Master of Teaching–Biological Sciences degree from Miami University of Ohio.
