Jeanie Mitchell is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow. Jeanie teaches French to 11th and 12th graders at Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN, where she is a sponsor of French Club and a participant in Penn’s Natural Helpers Program. She also serves as the freshman academy leader collaborating with 9th grade teachers as an instructional leader, organizing academy events, and helping freshmen stay on track to graduate. She has previously taught all levels of French and served as a club sponsor, and continues to travel with students to Europe every other summer. Jeanie was named the Penn-Harris-Madison 2019 Secondary Teacher of the Year. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a BA in French and received a Master of Education from Bethel College.
