Jodi Eppenstein is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Policy Fellow. Jodi teaches at- risk, blended, and instructional preschool in a self-contained classroom at Gonzalez Child Service Center in Aurora, where she serves as an instructional coach for the preschool program. Jodi is a professional learning community facilitator, a new teacher mentor, and leads the New Educator Support Team for the district’s preschool teachers. She leads the curriculum team and their efforts to create a two-year rotating set of UbDs (Understanding by Design). Jodi is the 2013 Kane County Special Educator of the Year and a Golden Apple Nominee. She graduated from DePaul University with a BSEd in Early Childhood Education and from Walden University with a MsEd in Reading and Literacy. She earned her LBS 1 Endorsement and her ESL Endorsement from St. Francis University in Joliet, Illinois.
