Kirsten Johnson

Kirsten Johnson is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Colorado Teaching Policy Fellow. Kirsten is a 7th grade life science educator at the International School at Thornton Middle, where she runs an after school ESL program. Kirsten serves on the leadership team as the science department instructional leader. She is a member of the Adams 12 science curriculum advisory team and serves as a representative from the International School at Thornton middle to the middle school science standing committee. Previously, she taught 9th grade sheltered biology, 10th grade chemistry, and 11th-12th grade basic human and natural sciences at Northglenn High School, where she received the Norse Choice Award. Kristen earned a BA in biological sciences with an emphasis in secondary education from the University of Northern Colorado, an MA in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in urban education from the University of Denver in 2011, and is a Boettcher Teacher Program alumna.
