Michael A Sweet is a 2020-21 Texas Policy Fellow. He teaches 4th and 5th grade Science Lab at Edith & Ethel Carman Elementary and sponsors Chess, Robotics, Destination Imagination, and Number Sense. He is also the school’s UIL Coordinator and STREAM Committee Chair. Michael is a member of the District’s Superintendents Council and was a finalist in 2011 for the H.E.B. Excellence in Education Award. Michael is in his 21st year teaching and has taught 2nd and 5th grade. He graduated from University of Texas Pan American with a BS in Criminal Justice and received his alternative certification through ACT-RGV.
