Nick Fernauld is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Commonwealth Teaching Policy Fellow. Nick is a 7th and 8th grade English as a second language teacher at McDevitt Middle School in Waltham, Massachusetts. He is a member of his school’s Language Acquisition Team, where he works with other teachers to support English language learner (ELL) and former English learner (FEL) students, and advises the school’s student council. Prior to working at McDevitt, Nick taught social studies in Cambridge, Massachusetts and English as a second language through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program in Girardot, Colombia. He earned a BA in History and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MEd in teaching and curriculum from Harvard University.
