Renata Isa

Renata Isa is a 2020-21 Texas DFW Policy Fellow who teaches 5th grade ELAR and Social Studies at Carolyn Bukhair Elementary. She currently serves as her grade level’s team lead. She has coached the school’s speech and debate team and piloted a professional development to help teachers learn ways to mitigate reluctant learning amidst the nation’s shutdown of schools. Renata is a member of the districts’ Cultural Competency Committee and Professional Learning subcommittee. She was a teacher of the year nominee and was awarded the Golden Glove award which is given to staff members who are recognized for their distinguished achievements. She is a Teach for America (TFA) alumna where she previously taught 1st grade in Dallas ISD.She graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a BA in Political Science and received an MEd in Education with a specialization in early childhood literacy from Southern Methodist University.
