Torri Clay

Torri Clay is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Mississippi Teaching Policy Fellow. Torri is a 9th grade biology teacher at Tupelo High School in Tupelo, Mississippi where she is the biology department chair.  Torri is on the school leadership team and serves as a liaison and mentor for new teachers. She was an editor/consultant for the Enrichment Plus MAAP Biology Edition resource guide. Torri previously taught physical science, human anatomy and physiology, botany, zoology, and biology at Starkville High School in Starkville, Mississippi, and Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, Mississippi.  She was named Tupelo High School Teacher of the Year for the 2015-2016 school year and received the Create Foundation’s 2016 Teacher of Distinction Award, among numerous teacher of the month awards.  Torri earned a BA in Biological Sciences and an MA in Teaching Secondary Science from Mississippi State University, and an EdS in Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
