Mark Sass

Mark Sass (he/him) is the Colorado Executive Director. Mark taught high school for 26 years in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. In 2000, he was part of the leadership team that helped launch Legacy High School. He served as a teacher leader, the AP coordinator, and the intervention coordinator as well as helping to bring professional learning communities to his school. He also facilitated the implementation of standards-based grading at the district level. Mark has been involved in educational reform throughout Colorado and was named one of the 2010 “best of” education reformers in the state by Education Reform Now. He was a 2014 National Fellow for the Hope Street Group, and served as a U.S. Department of Education Teacher Ambassador Fellow in 2015. He was a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Pahara Aspen Teacher-Leader Fellowship.
