Prior to joining Teach Plus, Denise Frasure served in the capacity as a teacher with the Chicago Public School District (CPS) for 10 years.  In her tenure with CPS, she worked as a teacher-leader on the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT).  Denise’s experience on the ILT entails assessing, establishing, and implementing high-leverage instructional strategies aligned with the schools' Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP) focus areas.  Additionally, she led the school-wide implementation of data driven instruction protocols and professional learning communities. Ms Frasure served as her school's network literacy teacher-leader.  In pursuing her commitment to establish a rich culture and climate that support the whole child, she actively taught after school enrichment programs; was the STEM (iBIO Stellar Girls) program lead teacher; and was the cheerleading and volleyball coach.

Also, Ms Frasure was a member of the Teach Plus Illinois Change Agent cohort (2017-2018).  Most recently, she served as a Teach Plus Senior Change Agent and Remote Learning PLC Teacher Leader.  Denise presented at the 2019 Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers Summit (ECET2) and was a “critical friend” teacher-leader supporting curriculum crossover - rural Illinois.  She is a former Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) resident teacher who served as an AmeriCorps State and National Member.

Denise has a diverse background with 10 years’ experience in the field of information technology as a system engineer and certified project management consultant over systems infrastructure/quality assurance for companies such as IBM, Time Warner (digital media CNN), and Allstate.  She holds a Master of Arts in School Leadership with a Principal Endorsement, Ed.S - Education Specialist (Administration and Supervision), Master of Arts in Education, Master of Business Administration in Change Management, and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.  Ms. Frasure is an active learner and her reverence to the success of students resounds in her dedication to serve in the field of education.  Ms. Frasure is not only committed to the development of teacher practices and the student overall achievement; but, also to the transformation of equitable educational systems in the communities we serve.
