Eric Lane
Manager of Philanthropy

Eric joins Teach Plus as the Manager of Philanthropy, where he will lead efforts to expand the organization’s individual giving revenue pilot and partner with a portfolio of state teams to build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders. He joins Teach Plus having spent over 10 years fundraising in the nonprofit sector, most recently at California Baptist University as the Director of Development for athletics, where he oversaw all fundraising efforts for the CBU athletic department. Prior to CBU, Eric served at Cal State Fullerton Athletic Department where he focused on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects capable of making principal and major gifts as individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations. Eric has also played leadership roles for the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles, raising funds for Los Angeles civic programs, and at The Posse Foundation Inc., where he focused on college access for students overlooked by the traditional college selection process. 

A native of Los Angeles, Lane graduated from Concordia University with a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration. He earned a BA in communications at Boise State, where he was also a four-year letterman on the men’s basketball team. Eric is also currently a member of Cohort four in the Collaborative Online Doctorate in Educational Leadership (CODEL) program at California State University, Fresno.

Eric also played two years of professional basketball in Europe, one with the German TG Renesas Landshut squad, the other in Rakvere, Estonia, for the BC Rakvere Tarvas. He prepped at St. John's Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif., where he was named the John Wooden California High School Player of the Year and CIF Player of the Year in 2003.
