Kevin Malonson

Kevin (he/him) has over 25 years of professional and academic experience within the field of education, with particular expertise in college readiness and college access among students in urban, public school districts. He has worked in for-profit and non-profit sectors helping students realize their educational goals through direct assistance, teacher training and collaboration with district administration. 

Kevin was most recently the Single Gender Education Coordinator at the Young Men’s Leadership Academy at Fred Florence Middle School in Dallas ISD. He has been a featured speaker since 2013 on the United Negro College Fund Empower Me tour, through which he presented to hundreds of parents and students about college planning and admissions at tour stops across the country.  He is a Dallas Morning News contributing columnist and was a 2016-2017 Dallas Morning News Community Voices opinion columnist. He received a B.A. in geography and a M.Ed. in education administration from the University of Texas at Austin, and eventually served as the university’s Assistant Director of Admissions. Kevin has two children in Dallas ISD schools.
