Miska Clay Bibbs Joins Teach Plus as Executive Director in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN, July 30, 2015—Teach Plus, a national non-profit that empowers excellent teachers to lead improvements in policy and practice, has announced that Miska Clay Bibbs has joined the organization as Executive Director in Memphis.  Ms. Clay Bibbs will lead Teach Plus’ policy, practice and teacher leadership work in the city, and will oversee the Teach Plus Memphis Teaching Policy Fellowship program.  She joins Teach Plus from Green Dot Public Schools, where she was Director of Community Engagement.

Ms. Clay Bibbs brings over 15 years of experience in education, policy and community development to her position at Teach Plus.  She began her career as a staffer and deputy campaign manager to Congressman Harold Ford, Jr.  She subsequently spent eight years as the District Coordinator of Community and Volunteer Relations at Memphis City Schools.  A seasoned community leader, Ms. Clay Bibbs was elected in fall 2014 to the Shelby County School Board representing District 7.  She holds a BS in business administration and marketing from Hampton University in Virginia and is a Master of Professional Studies candidate at the University of Memphis.
