Indianapolis, IN—Teach Plus Indiana congratulates Aleesia Johnson on being named the Superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools. Teach Plus teacher leaders have had the opportunity to collaborate with Ms. Johnson over the course of her time as Interim Superintendent as she worked to define the vision for the district and are excited to continue these conversations into the future.
“Aleesia has made a concerted effort to garner educator feedback around IPS’ climate and culture, meeting with our current and alumni teacher leaders to learn more about what they hoped to see from the district going forward,” said Rachel Hathaway, Interim Executive Director for Teach Plus Indiana. “Our teachers look forward to continuing to engage with the newly named superintendent as she develops a strategic plan for IPS that benefits all of our students and teachers.”
