Career-connected teaching and learning intentionally links academic content to real-world careers and workforce applications, while equipping teachers with the knowledge, experiences, and tools to help students explore pathways, build relevant skills, and see a clear connection between what they learn in the classroom and their future opportunities.
To understand the current state of the systems and conditions that support career connected teaching and learning, Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellows facilitated focus groups with educators from across the state and conducted a statewide survey.
Based on insights shared by over 600 Texas educators, in this report we offer Texas policymakers a practical path to ensure that every student has access to classrooms led by well-supported teachers who can connect learning today to opportunity tomorrow.
