Carol Adu-Gyamfi is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and a 4th grade lead teacher at Edward W. Brooke Charter School in Roslindale, Boston, Massachusetts. She focuses on cultivating a culturally and emotionally responsive classroom, while also teaching various subjects including math and reading, and intertwines their relevant histories to foster an engaging and rigorous classroom experience. Her vision pursues the idea of the anti-racist classroom, and she diligently works to encourage children to be their authentic selves, beyond the white gaze. Before teaching the 4th grade, Carol taught Kindergarten and enjoyed developing early minds with number and language literacy through remote platforms. Carol began her teaching career at Brooke Charter School in March 2020 as an Associate Teacher. She earned her BA in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing at Boston College.
