Olutope Aghedo is a returning 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. He is a 9th grade teacher and Departmental Chair at South Early College in Houston,Texas, teaching algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, and precalculus. He has student-advisor responsibilities at South Early College. In his second year of teaching, Olutope was a mentor teacher at Westbury High School in Houston and was nominated for teaching excellence during his graduate study work at Arizona State University. Olutope began his teaching career in Houston with Region IV Teacher Certification and was appointed as a mentor teacher in his second year. He was a member of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Accelerator program, in collaboration with Houston Community College (2018). He earned his BS in mechanical engineering at Federal University of Technology in Akure, Nigeria, and MS in industrial engineering at Arizona State University and international production at Technical University of Hamburg in Germany.
