Ana Aleman-Putman is a 2022-2023 Michigan Collaborative Teacher Leader and an elementary principal in Grandville, Michigan. She is also the co EL coordinator for the district as well as on the District School Improvement Team. As an advocate for all students, Ana creates partnerships to support all families and remove barriers for learning. As a principal, Ana is a firm believer in growing leaders in all her teachers, and building capacity so everyone has ownership to create collective efficacy amongst staff. She was awarded the YWCA Tribute Award. Ana is a member of MEMPSA, Educating Leaders, Principals of Color, and other committees that work towards equity, inclusion, and belonging for all. She earned her undergraduate degree in Social Sciences and Education at Grand Valley State University, a Master’s in Bilingual Education from Wayne State University as well as her Educational Specialist Certification from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
