Josefina Alfeus is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and 7th grade English language arts teacher leader at Thompson Middle School in Saginaw, Michigan. She supports student literacy development through targeted reading instruction and intervention, helping students strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and access grade-level content. Josefina was selected as a recipient of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Scholarship in Japan (2023-2025). She earned her Bachelor of Education in secondary school teaching (English and Oshiwambo) from the University of Namibia and completed the MEXT Teacher Training Program at Hokkaido University in Japan.
