Rachel Alvarez is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Harmony Teacher Advisory Cabinet Member. Rachel teaches 3rd grade English language arts at Harmony School of Science in San Antonio, Texas. This is her 10th year teaching. She spent the first five in Victoria, Texas, and the rest with Harmony Public Schools in San Antonio, Texas. She is a curriculum writer for first grade social studies, a member of the Instructional Leadership team on campus, a mentor teacher, a microcredential ambassador, and a district Professional Leadership Committee (PLC) leader. She focuses on differentiation and collaboration within the school setting and serves on many campus committees in her leadership capacity to assist students and teachers. She earned an Exemplary Teacher Incentive Allotment designation through the Texas Education Agency. She graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a BA in elementary education early childhood through sixth grade.
