Amber Riehman is a 2020-2021 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow who teaches social science at El Cajon Valley High School in San Diego where she also serves as one of the school’s English learner (EL) coordinators and union site representatives. Amber has been recognized with an Academic Achievement Award as well as the Leader in Biliteracy Award. Amber completed her BA in Social Science and her teaching credential in the linked learning cohort from San Diego State University and earned her MS in Critical Literacy & Social Justice from San Diego State University’s Department of Dual Language and English Learner Education (DLE), where she was voted outstanding graduate for her cohort.
