Lauren Anderson is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Indiana Advocacy Policy Fellow. She is a 1st grade teacher, and phonics content leader at KIPP Indy Unite Elementary in Indianapolis. She previously served as a grade-level chair and member of the Teacher Leader Taskforce. Lauren began her career teaching 1st grade as a Teach for America corps member in 2019. She received the Teacher of Excellence award for Essential Content (2020), holds Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol certification, and is completing her Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling Science of Reading certification. Lauren earned a BA in English from the University of Illinois Chicago and MA in teaching, elementary education from Relay Graduate School of Education.
