Andrea Harrington is a Teach Plus Rhode Island Teaching Policy Fellow, and a 7th and 8th grade English language arts teacher at Roger Williams Middle School in Providence. Andrea is a longstanding member of the school improvement team, actively working on cultural responsiveness, forming community partnerships, and increasing parent engagement. She also serves on the instructional leadership team, which influenced the school’s decision to incorporate restorative practice and schoolwide attendance incentives, and is a Providence Teachers’ Union representative. Andrea co-designed and implemented a high school entrance exam preparation course and has worked with PASA and Breakthrough Providence to consult organizations and mentor new teachers. Andrea received her BA in English language and literature from the University of Rhode Island and her MA in English literature and theory from DePaul University.
