Anna Huynh

Anna Huynh is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Change Agent Teacher Leader. Anna  is a Chicago Public Schools teacher, specializing in special education. She currently serves as learning behavior specialist at McAuliffe Elementary School in Logan Square. She is serving on Janice Jackson’s Teacher Advisory Council for the 2019-2020 school year. Anna has been a certified Ruby Payne Framework for Understanding Poverty Trainer and has trained over 2000 educators and administrators in bridging the gap between the educational system and students and families from low-income neighborhoods. She is also the founder and president of a 501(c)3 arts organization called HOODHOP inc. which brings the positive outlets of art and dance to low-income neighborhoods, Title 1 schools, summer camps, after school programs, and a juvenile detention center. The organization was featured on BET’s Showtime at the Apollo. She was awarded the Maybelline Beauty for Education award and featured in PEOPLE magazine. Anna received her BS in Math Education from the University of Maryland, College Park, her Master’s Degree in Adaptive Special Education from Fort Hays State University and is completing her School Administration Master’s degree and Illinois Principal Preparation Cohort at Concordia University Chicago.
