Dr. Justin Antos is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Senior Writing Fellow who teaches band and orchestra at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois. Justin is a Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellowship alumnus and has served as a teacher leader and professional development facilitator for his campus, and as a member of the Representative Council for IEA Local 218. Justin has been recognized as one of 10 Illinois Regional Teachers of the Year, one of the Country Music Association Foundation’s national recipients of the Music Teacher of Excellence Award, and is a National Board Certified Teacher in Music. He earned BM degrees in both Music Education and Percussion Performance from Saint Xavier University (summa cum laude), an MM degree in Music Education from Boston University, an MM degree in Instrumental Conducting from Central Michigan University, an MAEd degree in School Improvement Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University, and EdS and PhD degrees in Music Education from Auburn University. He is currently pursuing an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Northern Illinois University. Justin’s work has been published in What’s the Plus.
