Katharine “KT” Aoki is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow. KT is a 8th grade English language arts teacher; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) facilitator; and instructional leader at Roxbury Prep Charter Schools Mission Hill Campus in Boston, Massachusetts. They focus on supporting instructional staff by coaching fellow teachers on how to improve their classroom culture as a means to strengthen their student achievement. KT focuses on facilitating effective DEI professional development that allows staff to reflect on their own bias and identities and how identity plays a crucial role in the classroom. KT has previously taught 6th grade ELA and 5th grade history, and been a member of school operations. They earned their BA in religious studies from Wellesley College with a minor in teaching and learning Studies, and an MEd in curriculum and instruction with a focus in elementary education from American College of Education.
