April Brunelle is a 2020-2021 Teach Plus Commonwealth Senior Policy Fellow. April is a middle school school counselor at TechBoston Academy in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Previously, April was a school counselor for grades 6-8 at Morton Middle School in Fall River, Massachusetts. April has coached field hockey at various districts and is currently the varsity field hockey coach at Ursuline Academy. She is an Emerging Leader in the MA School Counselor Association for the 2020-2021 cohort this year. She is passionate about working in urban education, with students with disabilities, and developing college & career readiness curriculum at the middle school level. April graduated from Assumption College with a BA in Psychology and received an MEd in School Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
