Ariana Sanders is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow who teaches 10-12th grade Ancient World History, 11-12th grade American Studies, U.S. History, and 12th grade American Government at Belvidere High School in Belvidere. Ariana is the assistant Scholastic Bowl coach, Junior Class Advisor, and a member of the D100 Opportunity Coalition that seeks to create equitable learning experiences for all students in D100 schools. As a senior in high school, Ariana received the Golden Apple of Illinois Scholarship that allowed her to work throughout the state of Illinois for four consecutive summers to gain over 400 hours of additional clinical experience outside of her education program. She graduated from Rockford University with a BA in History and three minors in Spanish, Theatre Arts, and Secondary Education and is currently enrolled in the MS in Curriculum and Instruction program at Northern Illinois University.
