Ashley Carpenter is a 2020 Teach Plus New Mexico Teaching Policy Fellow. She is a special education preschool teacher in a developmentally delayed 3-year-old classroom at the Moriarty-Edgewood School District Early Childhood Center in Moriarty, New Mexico. She collaborates with other teachers for classroom curriculum development and co-manages the school’s Facebook page. She has taught special education for six years. She has worked on leading staff appreciation committees, coordinated in-house professional development opportunities and has been on school site leadership committees for curriculum, funding, and program development. She earned her BSEd Dual License in Special and Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque and an MA in Autism Spectrum Disorder from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix.
