Frankie Avila is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus California Senior Policy Fellow, 4th grade teacher leader, and new teacher mentor at John Reed Elementary School in Rohnert Park, California. He focuses on multicultural perspectives in California history and supporting multilingual learners. Frankie serves on his school site leadership team, is the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Tier 1 coordinator, and hosts an afterschool maker club. Frankie was awarded the Circle of Excellence Alumni Award from Sonoma State University (2023) and named the City of Rohnert Park Rotary Club’s Educator of the Year (2026). He earned a BA in early childhood studies from Sonoma State University and MA in education from Stanford University.
