Jarek Azim is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Learning Specialist at Excel Academy Charter Schools in Boston. They previously served as lead science teacher and special education STEM learning specialist at Excel Academy Charter Schools, campus relations manager and programming intern at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), and policy liaison for educational equity at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Jarek received the UPenn International Relations Department Director’s Prize for Exceptional Research (2022), was named U.S. Department of Education Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow (2020–2022), and was selected as Public Policy & International Affairs Junior Summer Institute Fellow (2021). They served as a mentor at Minds Matter Boston and were a 2023 Teach For America corps member. Jarek earned a BA in international relations and East Asian studies from the University of Pennsylvania and EdM in equity and social justice from Boston University.
