Valentyna Banner is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and instructional coach and administrator at San Diego Global Vision Academy in San Diego. She focuses on high-quality mathematics instruction, the Multilingual Learner program, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports. Valentyna has taught grades 3-8 and preservice college students. She was awarded the Benjamin Banneker Exemplary Mathematics Teachers of African American Students award (2019). Valentyna is a teacher consultant at the San Diego Area Writing Project, co-chairs the California Educator Diversity Action Network’s Pathways working group, and serves as Access and Equity chair for the Greater San Diego Mathematics Council. She earned a BA in diversified liberal arts and MA in curriculum and teaching from the University of San Diego, and MA in teaching K-8 mathematics and EdD in educational leadership preK-12 from San Diego State University.
