Andrea Barnes is a 2025-2026 Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Facilitator. She is a middle school English language arts teacher in the School District of Philadelphia and community leader with deep roots in Philadelphia. Previously, Andrea taught high school social studies. She has served in leadership roles that include Social Studies School-Based Teacher Leader, 9th Grade Level Chair, and Philadelphia Federation of Teachers Building Representative. Andrea is a member of the Iota Phi Lambda Business and Professional Sorority and co-hosts the limited-series podcast “Black at the Whiteboard.” She is a Lindback Award winner, recognized for excellence in education. Andrea obtained a bachelor’s at Temple University, master’s at Cheyney University, and a second master’s in education from Lincoln University.
