Amber Barton is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Arkansas & Mississippi Policy Fellow and 5th grade math teacher at Canton Public School District in Canton, Mississippi. She serves as the sponsor for the Junior Beta Club and Student Ambassadors. Amber previously taught math and English language arts in grades 3–8. She has completed the AIM Pathways to Proficient Reading program and professional learning at the Ron Clark Academy. Amber was named Create Joy (2021–2025) and Data Driver (2026). Prior to teaching, she served as a Lead Organizer with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, American Federation of Teachers, and American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. Amber earned a BS in business from William Carey University and MA in teaching from Belhaven University.
