Meredith Beal is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and grades 4-6 gifted education teacher at Harper McCaughan Elementary in Long Beach, Mississippi. She creates an environment in which students understand and embrace their giftedness while encouraging them to explore pathways to use their talents in the future. Previously, Meredith served as 5th-grade language arts department chair and on the grades 6-12 Vertical Alignment Curriculum Planning Team. She was one of three teachers nominated for Harper McCaughan’s Teacher of the Year (2020-2021 and 2023-2024) and was nominated by students and parents for the Jan/Pieper Noilon Teacher of the Year Award while teaching in the Ocean Springs School District (2014-2015). Meredith earned a BS in elementary education from The University of Southern Mississippi and an MEd in gifted education from William Carey University.
