Brande Bernat is a 2024-2026 Teach Plus New Mexico Advocacy Fellow and middle school language arts teacher and reading interventionist at Solare Collegiate Charter School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She focuses in developing highly engaging test prep curriculum and enhancing reading comprehension for older students facing reading challenges. Brande has previously served as an instructional coach and school leader in Albuquerque area charters. Brande began her career teaching at higher education institutions in Utah and Alabama before returning to her hometown of Albuquerque. She has taught Language Arts to students in grades 5 through 12. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from New Mexico State University and Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Arkansas Tech University.
