Judith Bettano is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and an 8th grade English teacher at J. Henry Higgins Middle School in Peabody, Massachusetts. Prior to the pandemic, Judith taught 7th grade for over 15 years. She has been a Keys to Literacy coach in her district, and participated in several curriculum planning committees. Judith received a 2017 Champion of Youth Award from the Healthy Peabody Collaborative. Aside from teaching, Judith consults with an educational software company where she pilots new educational software with her students for use in the classroom. In addition, Judith is on the MCAS Development Committee for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She earned a BA in English from Salem State University, a MEd from Lesley University in Middle School Education, and a CAGS in Reading from American International College.
