Adrienne Black teaches 6th grade regular and gifted and talented students in math while serving as math team lead and new student teacher mentor at Houston Academy in Houston, Texas. She has taught 5th and 6th grade math. Adrienne was named campus Teacher of the Year 2015-16, and chosen by TEA and ETS as part of the Item Review Team for TELPAS Listening and Speaking (2018). She has a BA from University of Houston, focusing on Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a minor in management, an MBA focused on Finance and Marketing from University of St. Thomas, and a Master’s in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University. She received her teaching credentials through an alternative certification program and is certified to teach ESL, special education, and has credentials to teach gifted and talented for her district.
