Desiree Bluett is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and is a 6th grade paraprofessional at Duquesne City School District. She gives students extra support in math and reading so they can successfully complete their assignments. Desiree has served in various capacities as a paraprofessional and assistant in the libraries. Desiree was named Duquesne City School Support Staff Member of the Year (2015) and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (2022). Desiree is Vice-President of Duquesne ESP Support Staff Union, and a member of Rankin/Mon Valley/Pittsburgh National Council Of Negro Woman, P.R.I.D.E (People Residing In Duquesne Equally), and the Duquesne Community Day Committee. She is working on her BS in Elementary Education and Special Education.
