A National Board Certified math teacher, Bootsie Battle-Holt teaches at Marina del Rey Middle School (MDRMS) where she also serves as the mathematics department chairperson. In nearly a decade of teaching in LAUSD, Bootsie has enjoyed the opportunity to work with students and families from all backgrounds and from all over Los Angeles. In addition, she has written and coordinated over $100, 000 in grants, and has logged years of service on a variety of school site-based committees. Bootsie volunteers in organizations that benefit children in the communities surrounding MDRMS. She earned a BA in history from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her teaching credential candidate at Cal State, Dominguez Hills, where she helped found an organization to unify and celebrate the accomplishments of other candidates.
