Shontee Branton

Shontee Branton  is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Early Childhood Educator Group Facilitator. She is a 4th grade English language arts and reading teacher at Rufus Burleson Elementary in Dallas, where she is part of the Vertical Leadership Team. Previously, Shontee served as an instructional coach and mentor teacher, developing hands-on teaching methods and guided lesson plans. She also is a Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellowship alumna. Shontee is a nationally certified STEM educator and has been recognized with the Distinguished Teacher Recognition Exemplary Teacher for the Dallas Independent School District and the Master Teacher designation from the Texas Education Agency. Featured on CNN and in Time Magazine, she has spoken on educational issues, such as the pandemic’s impact on teachers and low educator pay in Oklahoma. Shontee holds a BS in early childhood and MS in early childhood and educational leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma.
